Samsung Galaxy M10 Review

Image
Samsung Galaxy M10 Review  design The highlight of the Samsung Galaxy M10 is its screen, with its waterdrop-style notch at the top  for the front camera. Just above the camera on the top edge sits the earpiece, and the entire thing looks similar to what we've seen on smartphones such as the OnePlus 6T and Oppo F9 Pro. A thin black border can be seen all around the screen, with it stretching almost till the top edge and leaving a narrow chin area at the bottom.  The back and sides of the Samsung Galaxy M10 are plastic, with curved edges and corners. The ports and buttons are all where we expected them to be, and the only thing that really stood out was the speaker grille at the back rather than at the bottom. This was common a few years ago, but now comes across as odd. It also causes audio to be slightly muffled when the phone is lying fla...

Huawei nova 5i review

Image
Huawei nova 5i review                               Now that you’ve seen the Kirin 980-powered Nova 5 Pro and the Kirin 810-powered Nova 5i Pro, let’s take a look at their Kirin 710-powered sibling, the  Nova 5i . Check out our initial thoughts about the device below. Looking at the design, the Nova 5i is like a combination of the Nova 5 Pro and the Nova 5i Pro. On the front, it shares the look of the latter because of its hole-punch screen that houses the 24MP selfie camera. At 6.4-inches, it has a large screen size with a pixel density that equates to 398ppi. The quality is good, although not as punchy as the OLED screen of the Nova 5 Pro. It also has a screen protector pre-installed to prevent scratches. Found above the display is the earpiece. On top is the secondary microphone. At the ...

Huawei P40 Pro review

Image
Huawei P40 Pro review The handset was announced on the March 26, and the Huawei P40 Pro release date is set for April 7 across selected European markets and April 16 in Australia. So far, we know the phone will be available in the UK, Europe, Australia and the Middle East. Design and display The P40 Pro features what Huawei calls a 'Quad-curve Overflow Display', with curved glass at all four edges. We've seen a few phones with curved sides, but with the Huawei P40 Pro you also get curved top and bottom edges. However, the display itself only curves at the sides, not from the top or bottom – it's just the glass on top that curves there. There are still very thin bezels at the top and bottom, and while these do look thinner than on competing phones, it’s not a drastic difference compared to, say, the Galaxy S20 Ultra. The 6.58-inch screen on the Huawei P40 Pro has a resolut...

Huawei Y9s review

Image
Huawei Y9s review  The Huawei Y9s is a surprise for us mainly because it arrived pre-installed with Google Apps even after all that has been said and done with the US-China trade war drama. Just like its sister company’s Honor 9X, the Huawei Y9s probably rolled out of production before Google software is completely ruled out in Huawei’s ecosystem. But all these are good, in the sense that Malaysian smartphone users are still very used to the synergy that Android has with Google Apps. Ask any modern Malaysian for their email address and it would probably end with gmail.com. So, the Huawei Y9s would be very much welcomed locally, not just because it has Google Apps but also a great price of only RM999, which as of our review, has features that are a tad better than some smartphones priced similarly. DESIGN For the price of RM...

Huawei Y9 prime review

Image
Huawei Y9 prime review   You can get a really decent phone for a couple hundred dollars these days. The Huawei Y9 Prime has a motorized front facing camera, notch-free screen, 4000mAh battery, triple-cameras including an ultrawide lens, a headphone jack and an octa-core processor inside – you could be led to believe you’re getting a zero-compromise phone for a fraction of the price of a flagship. While the Y9 Prime is a perfectly fine device on its own merits, its feature list belies a collection of weird choices and compromises that were made to hit this mid-tier price. The first thing you’ll notice about the Y9 Prime is the size of the lad, it’s an absolute unit. Coming from an iPhone X, the Y9 felt positively gargantuan in comparison. This is to house it’s huge screen – a 6.59-inch IPS LCD display that curves around the corners and covers almost the entire front of the phone...

Huawei P20 Lite review

Image
Huawei P20 Lite review  Introduction The lite series used to be the new minis, but then people voted against the compact phones sharing nothing with the headliner but the name. So, today the latest Huawei P20 Lite isn't just a fancy name bearer - it has what it takes to be worthy of the P20 branding - the notched screen, the glass design with gradient paint, a dual-camera on the back, Face Unlock as well. The so-called bezel-less notched scre ens have just made it to the mid-range, but they are becoming the next big thing there. And while we don't exactly fancy those, they surely look modern. Whether the aesthetics of the notch appeal to you will be up to personal preference. The P20 Lite also packs a dual-camera and there is a high-res selfie snapper at the front, capable of defocusing backgrounds, too. One thing that hasn't changed for a while in the Lite series is the Kirin chip. It's two-years-old already a...

review samsung galaxy m30

Image
review samsung galaxy m30 VERDICT The Samsung Galaxy M30 is similar to its cousin, the Galaxy A30, in a lot of ways, including performance and camera quality. Where it feels like a step up is exterior design and battery life. Where it feels like a step down is software. It’s still a pretty good buy for Rs 14,990 SAMSUNG GALAXY M30 DETAILED REVIEW In the last two or so months, Samsung has announced a whole bunch of smartphones in India, including refreshed models in the Galaxy S, Galaxy A, and Galaxy M series. While the Galaxy S series continues to represent the Korean electronics company’s flagship range, the Galaxy A and Galaxy M series are two very similar ranges that represent Samsung’s mid-range smartphone models. Understanding the difference between the updated Galaxy A and Galaxy M series can be tricky, considering the similarities in specs and model name...
